Future Performances

  • After critically acclaimed premieres in Kaunas and Vilnius (Lithuania), the international duo Piano Phase Project presents their latest creative work – artistic film ‘Sound Meditation’. Conceived in the forests of Western Canada, it explores the connection between nature, music and community. Pianists Monika Lozinskienė and Anna Szalucka spent three weeks in August 2023 at an artist residency in Gibsons BC, collaborating with the film’s producer and director, Bruce Devereux (Canada), and a Japanese artist Makiko Kitama.

The artists were inspired by the mysticism & fantasy of a Lithuanian composer, painter and writer, M.K.Čiurlionis. His legacy as well as innovative look at combining different art forms inspired them to create an original arrangement of his symphonic poem ‘In the Forest’ for piano 4 hands.

The Sound Meditation premiere including a screening a live performance of Čiurlionis’s work is a synthesis of visual arts, nature, classical, improvisational, and electronic music.
